Luang Prabang (the "Dwelling of the Royal Buddha") is the erstwhile capital of the Kingdom of Laos and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled among low-lying hills in north central Laos it lies at the junction of the Mekong with the Nam Khan river. A quiet getaway with a laid-back atmosphere and beautiful old-world charm it is a wonderful place to visit. The food is simple and yet delicious.
