Built mostly of sandstone, the complex has a central 'temple mountain' with a quincunx of towers surrounded by rectangular galleries at three levels, each higher than the next. The outer walls are 2.2 miles long beyond which lies a rectangular moat surrounding the area, which is 670 feet wide. The temple is connected to the surrounding land with a causeway that crosses the moat on the east and west.
